An article in the Radyr Chain

A thank you from a new business in Station Road.

Radyrs main shopping area on Station road continues to impress residents in radyr & morganstown. They would have seen that a new beauty salon “Radyr Beauty Lounge” has opened for business in between radyr cleaners and the fruit and vegetable shop. (Opposite Blush boutique & the new cafe Latina bar & kitchen)

The idea to open a salon was first thought of by its owners Nigel & Beverley Hardie from Morganstown who moved here from east Cardiff 4 years ago.

Nigel Hardie - “When we noticed that a business unit became available in Station Road we wondered if there was a business that we could open which would serve the local community. After viewing the unit we quickly realized that due its unusual shape and size it would make a perfect Beauty Salon”

The unit was in bad shape, but after major investment & 3 months of extensive refurbishment work carried out by “Trade Rite” the business unit has been completely transformed and includes a Reception & Seating Area, a Main treatment room, a manicure / pedicure room & a spray tanning room, which most people would be surprised at as from the front it doesn’t look that big. (It’s a bit like the Tardis!)

The Reception area is warm, friendly and inviting and clients can choose a drink from many different varieties of teas, coffee & water.

The Main Treatment room is very relaxing due to its colours, candles, subdued lighting & coloured ceiling lights that can even be programmed to change colour to suit the client’s mood & preference. It also has a fully electric couch for clients to relax on whilst having treatments/Therapies. The manicure and pedicure room is very cosy and can accommodate 2 people at the same time for friends and mums to have treatments at the same time if they wish & the tanning room is roomy, bright and airy. Radyr Beauty Lounge opened its door this summer offering residents in the area and beyond a complete & extensive range of beauty treatments in a relaxed, modern & comfortable environment.

The salon manger Laura Ferries who runs the business has considerable experience and knowledge in the field having worked as a senior Therapist at the Vale Hotel & Spa for 4 years. Laura Ferries- “I thought that Radyr & Morganstown was a lovely area but was missing somewhere for residents to go to for quality beauty & relaxation treatments. When the opportunity came up to run a Beauty Salon here and after seeing the unit I knew it was what I have wanted for a long time, as I can now offer clients a very personal service.Everybody in the area have been very supportive and we have already built a good relationship with our clients who now come in on a regular basis for treatments”

Nigel Hardie said “Once we had set the plans in motion for the business we advertised for a salon manager and were fortunate enough to find Laura Ferries oneofthemost well respected beauty therapists in Cardiff. Laura waited patiently for the unit to be ready for 8 months & helped to design the salon from the outset. We wanted to create an environment where clients would be made to feel special, relaxed & comfortable and would go away feeling uplifted & pampered. I believe that from client feedback we have had so far that we have achieved that”

Nigel & Beverley Hardie & all at the salon would like to thank Blush, Cafe Latina Bar & Kitchen, Headway Hairdressers & X-Cell Hair Company for continuing to refer clients to us & everyone at the dry cleaners & the fruit & vegetable shop either side of us for their patience and help whilst the unit was being refurbished. Also to everyone else in the area for putting up with yet another building job and more skips!
